Happy Sunday!

Hey Friends!
Just popping on today with a quick post and a birthday card I created for a special friend.
I'm trying my hand at water color pencils. They are lots of fun, but I need lots more "practice".

I layered papers, added ribbon, buttons, bling and another pin.

I hope you enjoy my card and YOUR day today.
Leave me some love...

A Birthday Gift with Flair

Hello, friends!
I've been looking forward to today's post for Pinque Peacock because
I'm so excited to share this project with you! Thank you for joining me.

This is a gift I made for a little lady who turns 5 in April.
I am placing first row emphasis on that amazing RED corduroy button from Pinque Peacock.
I love it because, it's bright, it's big and it's corduroy!
To dress up this muslin bag I tore 3 strips of color coordinating fabric and stitched through each strip with a piece of red & white baker's twine.
I did the same thing with a piece of crinkle ribbon in red.
Once I had the ruffles as I wanted them I stitched through again attaching it securely to the sack with more baker's twine.  The blue is also attached, but I just tied that one around in a bow to mix things up.
Those ribbons are not coming off, promise!

The inside has a small note pad for her to carry with for doodling or writing her "to do" lists.
I altered the cover of that note pad with polka dots and a monogram, using more
of the ribbons and twine as accents.
So....  what do you think... will she love it?  I sure hope so.

Thanks for letting me share. Have a beautiful day today!
~Donna K

Supplies used in this project are as follows:

Baker's Twine: Martha Stewart

Beautiful Storage / Beautiful Cottages

Do you "display" your creative items or simply store them away until needed?
A creative friend of mine shared a page on Facebook recently and they had their vintage ribbons displayed on spool shaped cards and placed in a gorgeous basket.

This is my version of this storage idea and the results are quite pretty.
{Visit Queen Bee Cottage on FB to see the actual display.}

I simply die cut card stock, aged the edges and stamped a few images to give it that shabby look.

The lovely stick pins you see in my display are items I've fallen in love with.
They are created by Ana Garcia.
Contact her directly for purchase of these beauties.  (me_0814@yahoo.com)

Take a moment and visit a few of my favorite cottages on Facebook today.
You will be inspired....

May your day be filled with beauty...

It's Friday and You're Beautiful

Hi Friends!

I just want to share a little card with you that I put together today.  She's a cutie on a bike and her dog reminds me of my dog except for the bow.  He's very liberal but he doesn't do bows.

She's fun and she sends the best kind of note... "You're Beautiful"

Hope your day is beautiful in every single way.

~Donna K

PS....

Stop by the Pinque Peacock blog this weekend.  My lovely design team sisters have some amazing projects in store for you and there's an opportunity for a $15.00 prize just for playing along.

Just. Keep. Swimming.

Ok so I'm a big 'ole blog junkie these days... please don't hold it against me.
I made this card last night.
I kinda think it's perfect for someone who might be trying to stay *afloat*.

I used Copics to color each fish.
Then fussy cut and glittered the lips of my stacked up fishy fishes.
Dropped a bit of diamond glaze on the eyes to make them shiny like a bubble.
Placed each fishie with a 3 D adhesive on top of some coordinating washi tape / crinkle ribbon.
Shaded the sentiment with copic pen.  {... isn't that font adorable? Thanks TAWS for the freebie.}
And there you have it... I liked the simplicity of the white card base for this layout.
I hope you enjoy it too.

I hope you'll take a minute to check out these challenges and see all of the fun ways you can be inspired.

Go on, try a challenge and do something different... you just might like it!

Have a beautiful day today and keep on swimming!

Happy Birthday, Daughter

This is a card I created for a friend to give her daughter for her birthday.
The soft colors and butterflies remind me of spring.
I thought it would be a good day to share it since our daughter is in town visiting from Wilmington.

Adding texture to the patterned card stock with embossing really makes it stand out.
And how 'bout that frilly, layered bow?

I hope you enjoyed your visit today!
Have a great day... be sure to smile.  It's the best gift you can give.

Trashy Treasure

Hello and happy Friday,  sweet friends!

Last weekend I rescued this amazing bottle from the recycling bin.
My initial thought was to soak the bottle and remove the label.
I figured, easy project ...
Wrap it in a doily with a burlap bow and use it for a vase.
Then my pretty bottle took a turn in another direction.

I'm quite tickled with her.

I added satin and crochet flower embellishments.
A Beaded Stick Pin and twine.
Crinkle Ribbon and a new tag with layers of paper & metal eyelets.

And ... my favorite part ...

That amazing cork!

My sweet mister attached the hardware so I could make a way to hang it from the bottle. I added some rhinestones and pearls to the cork and tied up a metallic key with the heart.
I used some distressed crinkle ribbon called "Antique White" from 3 Girl JAM to tie together the stamped, hand cut image.
The heart image you see is  from the Unity Stamp Co.  set:  "We Treasure You" for the cork top and also put one on the back of the bottle label with the butterfly image, also from the Unity Stamp Co. Kit of the Month called {Heart & Soul}.

So... my trashy find has become a real treasure.
A beautiful piece of shabby decor or way to store your favorite seashells or vintage buttons.

Thank you for stopping by today!
Have a beautiful weekend.
~Donna K
