Jello makes it better

Hello and happy Friday, friends!!
I've been under the weather since returning from our Tennessee trip on Tuesday.
I'll spare you the whining and just let you know that I've gotten myself a case of vertigo.
Today is better than yesterday, I'm only partially wobbly when I walk and as you can see I'm on the computer so you know it's not "all that bad" right?!
I shouldn't be on the computer...but I'm excited about the vintage girls on this card.
I found this old Jello cookbook {dated 1939} when visiting the Stevensville, Maryland area last fall.
I knew when I "had to have it" that it would make a darling card some day.
Some day arrived last Friday when I was visiting some crafty gals in Wilson for a girls craft day.
I took the cover and sized it up, layers upon layers of card stock and embossed craft paper.
Wrapped her all up in Trendy Twine and a cute mesh ribbon.
Attached a button, inked up the edges just a teeny bit and there she is...
the perfect recipe!

I also added a page to the interior and stamped that as well.
The sentiment is what I call "girl power" and fits nicely with the goddesses on the front.

The final touch is the polka dot sack I used for the envelope, just fold 'er over
and she's ready to give.

Thanks for stopping by today.
I hope your weekend is FABULOUS and creative in some way.

Everything is Rosey - Guest Post for Sweet Stamps

Hello crafty friends!
This is my last guest post for the month over at Sweet Stamps but it is one of my favorite cards... EVER.
I used the Tea Cup Medium 866 stamp, die cut it into an oval shape and added the coral scalloped matte. I used 3D adhesive to pop up the die cut image and copic pens to shade the roses in the perfect shades of coral to match my embossed background papers and ribbon.
I used a bit of twine to tie up that darling little teapot charm.
And there you have it...

I kinda love this delicate, feminine look and I hope you do as well.
Be sure to link up your Rosey project to this weeks' challenge.
Thank you so much to the amazingly talented Design Team of Sweet Stamps for having me the past few weeks.  I have really enjoyed posting with you and each challenge has been a fun, new adventure for me.
Have a peachy day today...

Pinque Peacock / Sweet Stamps Cross Promo Hop

Welcome to DAY 1 of the Pinque Peacock Cross Promotion Blog Hop
with the talented Designers at Sweet Stamps
If you are arriving here from Kendra's Blog, then you are right on track.
However, if you would like to start at the beginning, please head over to either of the Main Blogs  Sweet Stamps or Pinque Peacock .
This will be a 2 Day Hop starting at the Sweet Stamps Blog and the Pinque Peacock Blog each day. Please visit each of the Main Blogs to show your love to BOTH Companies that have organized this fun event for you!
Invite Your Friends, there is lots of eye candy along the way!

This Hop will lead you directly into the NEW Challenge at the
Sweet Stamps BLOG
where the new Challenge will start and the theme will be everyone's favorite:
Below is the card I created using beautiful products from both companies.
It's a 4"x4" card with a craft background.
Layers of greens and a pretty pink floral design paper. I put the floral paper through my crimper for added texture and I'm quite pleased with that effect.
For this project I used Daisy Duo 3026  from Sweet Stamps. It was fun to
fussy cut and shade them with Copic Pen. I wanted something different than the usual yellow or white flower and this worked perfectly.  I added some 3D adhesive to each flower and a button for the center.
I chose the sentiment Have a Nice Daisy because it works for a birthday as well as a thinking of you or encouragement card.
That sweet pin is one of Pinque Peacock's Angel Stick Pins. Cute, huh?!
The ribbon is 3GirlJAM crinkle ribbon and the leaves are a die cut from StampinUP.
That's it for me... now it's time to  scoot on over to  DeNetra's Blog to peek at her beautiful creation and get all the details on her project!

Thanks for stopping and "Have a Nice Daisy!

Chalkboard Technique Card

Hello friends!
Just wanted to share another Sweet Stamps "challenge"project.
The challenge.... Chalkboard Technique and let me tell you... I LOVE this technique.
I think it's "vintage-y" and nostalgic and just plain pretty!
You MUST give it a try and be sure to link up your card with this weeks' Sweet Stamps challenge!
I used a corrugated card base that is quite large at 5.5" X 5.5", but it provided me with lots of space to feature the lovely stamped Parisian Bouquet image.
I stamped the image using white craft ink.  I inked the stamp pretty heavily to be sure it looked "chalky" once it dried.  After it dried I used white colored pencils to draw around the distressed edges of the black paper to give it more of that chalk board feel.  Are you feeling it?!
I enjoy decorating the inside of my cards as well as the outside and it's a great way to use up some of those "extra" sheets of paper you may have floating around.
I hope you enjoy my project as much as I enjoyed creating it.

Thank you again to Stacey at Sweet Stamps and their lovely, talented crew for having me as guest designer this week!

10 Things I Love About You

Hello Crafty Friends!
Today is my turn to post over at the Pinque Peacock Blog, but I wanted to share my project with you here too.  Who knew I was such an attention hog, eh?!  Hey...Don't answer that!
I am pretty happy with this little shower gift that I created recently for my friend who got married on June 7.
She was happy with it as well... her tears said what words couldn't that day.
I was so happy that she was so touched by this small token.

As you can see I created a mini journal. It is 4.25"X4" and the title fit perfectly because I chose 10 special photos to put inside.  I used a variety of papers, textures, ribbons, twines and of course, a few of my favorite precious Pinque Peacock goodies.  See that white arrow??? that is to show you how I took a longer stick pin and snipped the end off to make it more size appropriate for my album.  I popped on an end piece to keep it in place and voila!

My gift wasn't complete until I made a tag to top off my craft gift bag.
Notice that gingham button on the tag?  Yep... another Pinque Peacock goodie.
I used a bit of Trendy Twine and 3GirlJAM ribbon on there as well.

I appreciate the opportunity to share this gift with you.
Thanks for stopping by and have yourself a fabulous day!!

Have a Beautiful Day - Sweet Stamps Guest Post

Hello again friends!
I wanted to share my card with you for week two of my guest posting gig with Sweet Stamps.
The challenge this week is Parchment.
I hope it doesn't show too much in my card that this was my first real experience
with this beautiful technique.
I chose soft pinks and grays for my card colors.
I used a clear ink and a white embossing powder onto the vellum using the beautiful Parisian Bouquet stamp from Sweet Stamps.
Once I heated the embossing powder the image showed up just lovely and I was pretty proud of myself for even trying this technique.
I hope you'll give this technique and challenge a try too... I mean, why not, right?
Thank you again to the lovely gang over at Sweet Stamps for having me!!
~Donna K

June Release Blog Hop with Pinque Peacock

Welcome to Pinque Peacock’s
JUNE New Release

Thanks for joining me today!
If you've stopped by today and didn't come from Pinque Peacock blog...scoot on back over there for the rules more information on how to win some FAB prizes this weekend!

My project is a fun little chalk board framed in metal.
It is approximately 5X7" and has a jute cord for hanging.
Nope...I did not make the board... but I added some flair to it for the hop this weekend.  Isn't that just nifty?!
I stamped my image in white chalk craft ink, added a layered garden beauty straight from the Pinque Peacock June New Release selection along with a red angel stick pin and that sweet red fabric covered button on the right bottom corner.
You might notice that between the fabric layers of that pretty little garden beauty I added card stock cut outs to make it even chunkier.  I have a thing for thick, chunky projects. These beauties are versatile and can be used as they come to you or you can separate them easily to alter them any way you like.
Thanks for stopping by and letting me share... I hope you have a blast hopping along this weekend.
~Donna K

Next up you should be heading over to see something sure to knock your socks off by the super talented Lisa.

3 X 3 times 4

Hey friends!
Today is a good day, right?  If not... I have a cute way to share a little note card in someone's lunch box, brief case or under their pillow to make it all better.

This is a set of 4 note cards and they are each 3X3" These cards are a tad bit different and each has a sweet sentiment stamped in red. You like?!

I chose popsicle papers and added a gingham ribbon and a little bling on each one.
I stacked them up with coordinating envelopes, all tied up with a bit of twine and it's a sweet hostess gift too.

Fun, huh?  I think so...

Guess who is a Sweet Stamps Guest Designer?

Hello, hello friends!
I am so honored & excited to be posting as guest designer today for Sweet Stamps.
This week's challenge over there is ... Dad
Be sure you pop over and link up your DAD project too.

My Happy Father's Day card features a variety of papers and textures.
My "goal" was to make the silhouette stamp stand out as if it were a vintage photo.
I stamped and heat embossed the image in black. I think it shows up nicely on the aged papers.
I used the following goodies from Sweet Stamps to create this card.
Thank you for stopping by today and thank you so much to the talented crew of Sweet Stamps for having me.
I hope you have a wonderful day today!
