Happy Birthday to my Mom & Me!

Today is my day to post over at Pinque Peacock.
So I shared a card that I created for my mom.
Because.... OUR birthday was yesterday!!
I created this step card with *display* in mind.  I love that you can stand it up and it's not just a "regular" card.  I tend to stick to standard two fold cards so I'm working harder to mix things up a bit.
You'll find that burlap button at the Pinque Peacock Shop, the crinkle Ribbon is 3 Girl JAM and the step die is one I purchased at Sweet Stamps by Cheery Lynn Designs.
I decorated the inside with the designer paper and stamped the date on there.
And... the funny part of this creation is the stamp on the back. It's from Stampoutonline and it's cute, right?!
I know that some of you card making friends can relate to being up for HOURS creating that one special card.
Thanks for stopping by today. I'm really glad you did!
See the supply list and challenges I've entered this card in below!

Sparkly Sweet Craft Notions Grand Opening Hop

Welcome to the Sparkly Sweet Craft Notions Grand-Opening Hop!
I'd like to give a GREAT BIG THANK YOU to Beckie for including me in her Grand Opening Hop!
You should have landed here after visiting with Lisa
Doesn't she just knock your socks off with her talented self?

As you hop along each stop will be showcasing items that can be found in the NEW Sparkly Sweet Craft Notions online store.
The Sparkly Sweet Craft Notions store focuses mainly on brads and eyelets. However, it does have a few other crafty notions that you can't live without, along with being very proud to carry May Arts ribbon.

Now on to my creations.
Not one, but TWO projects with Sparkly Sweet goodies...
WHO... I mean HOO doesn't love an adorable owl?
I created a little owl tag with lots of paper layers, attached that fab ribbon & twine to that super dooper paper clip and there she is!
This would be so cute for a teacher gift or back to school book mark don't you think?

I just LOVE the expression on this little lady's face!
Part two..
Sorry if I'm over loading you with pictures.
I'm kind of a {photo} nut...

A few little messages in a bottle jar!
I saw this in a crafting catalog and had to try it.
I used one of my canning jars and created these darling little notes to go inside.  They are fairly small but make a huge statement with these CUTE owl brads!
The cards measure approx 2" X 3.5" and have teeny matching envelopes as well. I added some crinkle ribbon to the outside of the jar along with the twine from Sparkly Sweet Craft Notions to tie on that blingy button.
I think the clear button goes nicely with the jar.
That's it for me... thanks for stoppin'!
Enjoy the rest of the hop...once you leave here you should be heading over to the oh so talented Migdalia!

Hump Day!

Howdy and Happy Hump Day!
Summer is quickly coming to an end..but before we say good bye to beach days and summer breezes we have a few birthdays to celebrate.
My niece and nephew...yes, twins...celebrate their special day on Saturday.
They are twins, but they are totally unique in personality so matchy matchy doesn't work.
I created the little bug card for Emmy (yesterday's post) and this card is  for Max.
He is a total fish at the beach so I thought this paper was perfect.

To give it some extra umph..I coated the whale with crystal effects and scattered a variety of buttons and bling as the bubbles.  Simple and sweet, eh?!

I'm linking up this cutie at Beckie's Just Because Linky Party.

Thanks for popping in today...

She goes perfectly with this designer paper that I have been hoarding saving don't you think?
I have a feeling my niece is going to love it!

Thanks for peeking in on me today!
Have a great day.

Christmas Tag Challenge

I'm not in the Christmas spirit...YET... but challenges like this one
help remind me that Christmas isn't that far off.  Heck,I might even get sparked to do a few cards now that I have my holiday goodies out.  Thanks for the nudge Sweet Stamps!
I used the Large Snowflake stamp as the main focus of this country style tag.
The tag measures 5.25"x 2.5" it's not huge but there is room for a small note on the back.

Summer Flowers

Hello friends!
Can you BELIEVE it's August already?
Seems like we were just excited about spring, ya know?!
I'm way behind in my card making this summer, but the distraction is all for good reason.
Lots of family time, riding my bicycle, walking and sunny days at the beach...no complaints here!
All that fun stuff inspired this bright and cheery, flowery card.
I was DIE-ing (pun intended) to use a Step Card Die that I recently purchased from Sweet Stamps.
This is my very first attempt and I'm pleased with the final creation.
I'm excited to enter this baby in a few fun challenges.
I will add the links to the bottom of my post along with the supply list.
Thanks for stopping by today...hope your day is BEAUTIFUL!
'til next time...
