celebrate life's simple pleasures

"Celebrate life's simple pleasures" is one of my favorite sentiments.  I've used it on my cards quite often but I don't think it will ever go out of style....I hope not anyway!
Today starts a new Linky Party at Craftin Desert Diva's and the theme is
"Anything with a sentiment."

I created this fall card for this linky party using rich papers and embellishments for lots of texture and layers.
Check out my supply list to find out where to get these lovely goodies.
Don't forget to join Tara and link up your favorite sentiment project over at Craftin Desert Diva's for a chance to win some amazing prizes as well as a chance at top 3!
Have a beautiful day today!

Fall Things

I gathered a few leaves this morning when I was walking....because...
I saw an inspirational quote yesterday and the photo background was a leaf with a heart punched out.
Well... for the life of me I cannot tell you what the quote was or even where it was. It could have been as simple as "Have a nice day!" but what stuck in my mind was that pretty leaf with the heart punch.
I knew it would make a perfect card for my adventurous, nature loving friend.
So I made this one...it's far from perfect but it's simple and pretty and the sentiment says a LOT.
I hope you like it and even more, I hope you're glad that you stopped by today!

Oh, Baby! Gift Card Holder

Happy Thursday!
Thanks for stopping by today.
Today's post is a baby girl gift card holder that I
created for my DT post over at Pinque Peacock
I have had this Oh Baby sentiment for a while and I thought it was a perfect match with these
Aren't those buttons just the CUTEST?!
I used some scrumptious ribbon from 3GirlJAM Baby Bundle and a chunky chevron background stamp from Hero Arts to doll up the front.
Custom Fabric Covered Buttons - Pinque Peacock

The inside sentiment is a mixture of Papertrey Ink & Recollections sets.
I will give you the run down below on how to make this gift card holder.
They are perfect for any occasion and hold a standard gift card, some cash-ola or a folded check!

Thanks for stopping by today!
Have a FABULOUS day!!

Challenges I've linked up with:

Instructions for this project:

Cardstock cut to 4.25" X 11"
Score @ 5.5" & 8"
Flip and score again at 8"
Fold and crease at score lines
Add adhesive to the bottom of the card then carefully snip the inside edge(where you see the chomp on the bottom photo) this allows your gift to slide in. I used a scalloped punch to cut the chomp, but any style punch works.
I used a 14" piece of ribbon and added that to the outside, then layered my papers. Easy Peasy!

Supplies used in this creation:
Papers-StampinUP, Recollections, Papertrey Ink craft
Stamps-Hero Arts, StudioG, Papertrey Ink, Recollections

Happy Monday!

Because I started my day with a delicious Pumpkin Spice coffee, courtesy of my sweet hubby.
I thought I'd share this yummy pic with you...
but let me clarify, this photo is not a photo of my dining table this morning... it's just sort of an inspiration to get you in the fall spirit.

Celebrating with 3 Girl JAM and My Little Black Dress

I'm so happy to be a guest designer today over over at 3 Girl JAM
It's a celebration because 3 Girl JAM is TWO.
I created this special card just for this occasion and I thought a little black dress was appropriate!
I'd like to say thanks to Julie and the talented ladies over at 3 Girl JAM for having me today. Be sure you stop by the 3GJ blog & their Facebook Event page for information on the giveaway!
As for the details on this card....
You'll find lots of paper layers I used a 6X6 My Mind's Eye pack, corrugated card base and some special embellishments like the Tuxedo crinkle ribbon from the Celebration Bundle placed right next to that super fun Flair Button from 3 Girl JAM.
I used a stamp from Sweet Stamps called Black Dress and Shoes
a pearl stick pin from Pinque Peacock. The tassel ribbon and pleated ribbon are from a mish mash of ribbon I won at a card swap and the "celebrate today" is a Papertrey Ink goodie from way back. I tucked in a feather for some va voom and there she is!
I love the larger size cards like this, it is so fun to layer and embellish.
Thanks  for stopping by today!
Be fabulous...

I want to ride my bicycle!

Happy Friday!
Today... I am in a mad rush.
Things have been...let's just say...
CRAZY hectic at my place.  All. Summer. Long.
This weekend is NO exception.
I have this cute card to show you here that I shared on my Facebook page a few days ago.
I have been a bicycling nut this summer...all in preparation for the Bike MS event that is taking place on Saturday.
I will be bicycling 100 miles (my first Century, ever!) with my husband, daughter and some very special friends to raise funds for the National MS Society.
This card was inspired by the training for this weekend.
The forecast says it's going to be 82 and sunny so there's our beautiful day!
Stay tuned for a post about our event...until then....
Thanks for stopping by and have a FABULOUS FRIDAY!
